APM apparently has a lot of material on it, more than 8V. What are they gonna put on "Finicial Economics"(DP) in the fall?? I cannot predict just from the name, nor can I tell the difference btwn the FE and APM. :-? what do you think?

I'm going to guess that DP will have a lot of the old Course 6 stuff, which tended to be a simpler version of the APM stuff: how to do binomial/trinomial models, how mortgage pass-throughs are structured, the cashflows of PACs, what duration is (forget about key rate duration).
Yeah, I think that the conversion mapping should have been this: Course 8 gets you CSP, Course 6 gets you DP, and PD gets you the modules, but that's just talking from what little I know.

FE is the precursor to APM, even though they are rolling out in reverse.
Also, the Finance/ERM track will be taking the same DP as Investments, so it must be more general than APM/8V, and I expect it will rehash Course 6 more than Course 8V/APM.

The FE Syllabus is out: http://www.soa.org/files/pdf/edu-catfall07-fet.pdf
wow. that's really interesting.
Looks like pretty much all the readings came from the old system. I also like how they broke out the syllabus by category (not just the learning objectives).

why am I still unable to find this while navigating the SOA site? How did you stumble upon it?
ETA: nm, I found it.
