It may be a bit early for this thread, but I was wondering if anybody else is already generally feeling cranky from too much exam studying. I lived up to my handle and fell really far behind (I am still just short hitting the half way mark on the reading) and am now spending all waking time at work or studying, and I was hoping you all would tell me it is ok to be in a bad mood most of the time. If you must instead mock me, please do so in a creative fashion.

I generally complain to anyone I see how much studying sucks.

Yeah, a bad mood is to be expected. I treat it with some Ben & Jerry's or with some quality dark chocolate. Mmmmm....

Bad mood, slight depression, yup yup. As a benchmark, the weather here turned absolutely gorgeous over the last few days and I couldn't care less. When I'm done with these, I'm spending a lot more time just sitting outside and doing nothing.

Oh, I'm definitely fighting the blahs. I finally gave it up on Saturday night and watched movies with my girls. I always intend to get back to it on Sunday but...
OTOH, I got a good night's sleep last night and I was able to focus much better this morning.

It can be frustrating at times, but generally speaking, the more I study, the happier I am. It makes me happy to have a sense that I'm making progress and doing something useful. It's when I'm not doing anything productive that I start to feel depressed, like I've wasted the day and I can't get that time back.

When the weather is good - I'll take my studying outside. It's a lot more relaxing.
To answer the OP - studying doesn't really affect my mood - aside from increased pessimism regarding my knowledge as exam date approaches. Studying sucks - but I don't think I get noticably irritable/angry/depressed about it.
It's all a means to a pretty good end - and that is what I think keeps me going.

I get irritable, sleepless, everything gets blown out of proportion when I'm stressed, and, of course, can't wait till it's over.
