Anyone ever take one of these.

How long are the sessions. Is it a one shot 1.5 hr class? for 1.5 PD

What exactly gets pumped over the internet ?

I did the Prescription Drug Update for 1.5 credits. It's basically a video of an SOA meeting session, with the accompanying PowerPoint presentation.

Also, I went ahead and found the actual meeting transcript from actuariallibrary.org (I searched on the presenter's names), and I highlighted the transcript as I went along, as opposed to taking notes.

Finding the transcript, watching the video, highlighting the transcript, and then doing a write-up for the PD document--probably totaled 3 or so hours. About the same as I did on each of the other meeting sessions that I used in my plan.

I did 2 -- Fair Value and Risk Management Practices. For Fair Value, I watched and took notes by hand. (I turned off the audio because it was distracting to hear and see the text at the same time -- for these two sessions at least, the transcript was part of the streaming video.) Then I wrote it up. Total time, about 2 hours. It went faster because I read faster than they talk. For Risk Mgmt Practices, I took notes directly on the computer (just flipped back and forth between windows) and my notes were pretty much complete sentences. Then I polished up the write-up a bit. Total time, about 1.5 hours. YMMV.
