SOA sample problems

Are we suppose to know the derivation of formula, theory of interest models and their assumptions such as those on questions 10 - 17 from the SOA sample problems. The SOA sample problems seemed to cover a lot of theory questions and I wonder whether we should put more emphasis on them.

There's honestly no way to know what type of questions they're planning to ask on the test till we see it. However, you the sample questions should be taken with a grain of salt since much doesn't seem like exam material. Case in point I'd really like to see how a proof could be worked into a multiple choice exam.

I would not be surprised to see some hard triple-true-false questions on this exam based on the theory in the sample questions.
