SOA Sample Problem #3--Where is it in the textbook?

Does anyone know where the material for this problem is coming from in the textbook? I think I've read all chapters now and I still don't see it. I suppose it's related to the learning outcomes for MFE, B.8, "Apply option pricing concepts to actuarial problems such as equity-linked insurance" but...where is this staff?

They were going to put out a study note, but didn't. So #3 is one you just have to reason out from your overall knowledge, not from anything in the syllabus.

There is a specific example of this type of problem on pages 48-49 of derivatives markets. It is not nearly as clear as the actex study manual example... but it is a start if you're having trouble.
