I know it's a little late to get going on this, but I would appreciate any help.

Is this a possible way for me to get enough PD credit:

I have 20 conversion units.
I'll attend this San Francisco pension thing worth about 15 credits next month and write a paper about it (about 15 pages?).
And write 15 one page papers about some distant learning stuff I'll do.

And this (along with submitting it) is what I'll need to do to earn PD credit?

If I passed the EA exam I took last month, then my path is considerable easier. But, is this my alternative path?

Thanks...

Yes, your alternative plan would work. The hardest part is just getting started. Try to get your hands on some other people's submissions (I'm in health but I got some from some pension friends, so there was nothing improper) just so you can see format and style.

Then try to set a goal of one page / one point a day. You could get 30 points written up in a month.

Also, one of my pension friends did the PD thing without EA credits. He wasn't convinced he would pass, and he didn't want his PD riding on his EA 2 exam. So he got his PD & FSA without EA, and worried about that later.

You'll be just fine. Trust me on this one.

And you have until October 31 to submit - they changed the deadline from June 30th.

Thanks, that helps me. Now I just have to make sure work would pay for me to go to San Fran.

I would probably pay my own way if the company refused to pay for you to go to SF (why would they?). If that would save me from taking a 6 1/2 hour exam with relatively little pain, I would definitely do it.
