I've heard from one of my friends that the Course DP is easier than Course CPS in Spring. Is it?

Someone thinks that Course DP should be a successor of the previous PD paper. Is it?

How do you define "easier"? Some people thought the old Course 6 were "easier" because there was less memorizations but some also thought the old Course 5 was "easier" because there were less calculations and more straight forward memorizations.

PD isn't even an exam. I don't think they are comparable at all.

After all, it is the first DP exam. Maybe we'll know the answer after the DP exam is over. Hehe.

Some have said DP is easier because DP covers the basics (i.e., considerations that go into designing and pricing a product) while CSP covers the viewpoint of the business as a whole (i.e., if we sell the product we designed and price, what are the ramifications?).

If you want a measure of difficulty, I believe the SOA has said that each of Exam DP & Exam CSP are similar to Course 8 in difficulty. And that <> PD.

ditto on wat? (as always ;))
I would classify the material on DP as "easier" than that on CSP since it contains more of the foundation stuff, whereas CSP to some extend assumes you know the foundations (or very very quickly teaches them to you), and tests you on concepts that build on those foundations.

As to which exam will actually be easier to pass - no idea.
