Has anyone noticed that the bulk of the study notes and on-line readings refer back to the mid 90s. What about SOX and 9/11? I can't recall seeing any reference to those so far. What do you think on that matter?

I always found old readings on investments/finance to be hilarious, especially with regards to examples given (probably why Hull updates so often...I think I remember one of the editions talking about how innovative Enron was with its energy biz).
To be a little less snarky, many of the models/concepts have not changed much, and knowing how certain things actually played out gives you a little skepticism about how far you can take any of these theories.

Some of that stuff you are hoping for is possibly on the CSP exam. For AFE, we had 2 study notes on SOX 404 stuff and one on bird flu.

and I was still disappointed in a lot of the risk management texts didn't have much of anything about the last decade.
