I was reading the Future Actuary newsletter, and apparently there are online seminars that you can take to fulfill a course requirement of the VEE's.
Is this true? I found no information on the SOA website...

Definitely true. Check out the specific VEE sections and you'll probably find some info. I've noticed a lot of people referring to programs by NEAS. (These are online seminars approved by the SOA, not given by the SOA.)

Thanks, I found the NEAS online courses. Anyone know how tough they are?
I'm thinking the VEE Stat courses may be helpful this winter if I choose to take C next Spring.

You barely need any VEE stats to do well on Course C, frankly.
It helps to know the Central Limit Theorem, and the concept of hypothesis tests are okay, but still, it's pretty independent.

NEAS? How tough is it to cut through room temperature butter with a steak knife?
The stat courses are a bit different because you have to do a project on top of readings and HW. Good part is you do it at your own pace. You can defer taking an exam until you are ready. If you fail, you can take it again at no extra charge. And you can take/pass the exam, and submit HW/Project anytime in the future.
It's not a bad deal. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how much you will learn. And if you have any questions about problems or material, you will have to rely on other students at AO or NEAS Discussion Forum, because NEAS doesn't respond to email, nor do they answer posts very often.

Here's the info from SOA... http://eande.soa.org/vee/standardized-exams.html
NEAS is not the only offering.

NEAS is not the only one, but it almost is. The only reasonable alternatives in the U.S. are CAS exams (transitiional only), and one Actex offering. Or you can become a Chartered Financial Analyst after several years of exams.
