Still have not started studying :( -- less than 10 hours so far.
Just can't get into it.
Must get moving! 3 weeks and 2 days!

Just went through all the materials and forgot most of them. Hope to be able to pick up 70% of the materials in two weeks to get passed.

Is the exam really that easy comparing to fellowship exams?

Yeah, really easy compared to fellowship exams as there are almost no questions that will employ your math knowledge.
I may not be qualified to say that right now since I have not passed CFA level III. :)

RRTTLLU?
That is for IPS, right?
For the Global Investment Performance Standards, it really cost my time to remember all the standards, especially the time for applying new standards.

How does everyone feel about the exam? The morning session is really a nightmare for me. I had not enough time and missed two questions. Ready to take it next year

Does this exam require more studying than 2? That would be my guess, since on of the sessions does not have mc.

I thought someone said earlier that 2 was the hardest?

I hope so!
But mc exams are a lot of easier to study for. You don't need to spend as much time memorizing the details (especially things like lists, ec), but instead can look for what looks familiar.

The material in L3 is easier IMO, but then you have the AM session.

I personally found L3 to be the hardest, but everybody is different. It may be because I was studying for EA-2B alongside it.
Ahh - memories. I picked the right exam of the two to pass that Spring.

To those who passed, what materials did you use and do you have any advice for June 2009 L3 takers? What did you do the same or differently than your prep for L1 and L2?

I basically used the CFA books . Do all the exercises in the book. A couple of weeks before the exam I did all the old exams I had as well as the freebie sample exam. I think that's pretty much it in my case.

I used the Schweser study notes for all the 3 levels. Considering the time I think using study notes is more efficient and covers most of the contents. The preparation for L3 is almost the same as L1 and L2 for me except L3 has less materials to learn. I used 110 hours in total although just passed the exam with no margin.
