Just to clarify, all the materials are available in written form, but some are also in video form, right?

Has anybody looked at this? Is it actually helpful or more of a stab in the dark of what the exam should be?

Sorry for the delayed reply. Everything is available in written form but some of what Mike says on video is not transcribed. So if you don't watch his videos you might not be getting the full value. That's just my observation and each person might approach this differently.

Just my quick response, I glanced through the papers. There is a summary of the important points from the case study (5 pages). This looks very helpful as I've struggled on how to learn the case study. Then there are a few tips and the sample exam. I'll go through the sample exam next week, but all in all, it looks pretty good!

This is my first time using TIA, and I ordered the sample exam but I'm not seeing how to access it. There doesn't appear to be a link anywhere to "your stuff" or something of the kind, and if I just go back to select the seminar from the top dropdown menu of exams, it just asks me again whether I want to register for it. Anything I'm missing?

I have access to www.tiavideos3.com but not websites videos1 or videos2. Why is that? How can I get access to them to view the case study notes and sample exam?

Thanks

Gustav,

If you've purchased the sample exam, you can log into TIA1 and TIA2. Just click on the 'Forgot Your Password?' link on those sites and you should be able to retrieve your password. Send me a PM if you can't log in and I can help you out. Thanks.

how do I go about signing up for the sample exam? It seems as if the websites that you have listed are for persons who have already purchased the material and are now looking to download.

Several ways:

1) Go here (https://www.theinfiniteactuary.com/?page=register) and fill in the required info. Upon confirmation, I will manually set you up for our other two sites for access to this exam.
2) Call me (http://www.theinfiniteactuary.com/?page=contact) and I can take the order over the phone.
3) Go to the Actuarial Bookstore (http://www.actuarialbookstore.com/) and purchase it there. It takes a little longer to set you up under this process, but you should have access in less than 24 hours.

So how does everyone like the sample exam? Is it worth while?

Haven't looked at it yet and probably won't until it'll be way too late for my opinion to be of any use to you ;)

I think the exam is pretty good. I'm hoping it is a little harder than the actual exam, or at least they grade the actual exam a little easier.

There is a good problem on state price deflators as well as practice on other topics.

I felt the exam did what a practice exam should do - show me what I need to focus on the next 10 days.

I thought the practice exam was very good. I wish he didn't repeat a few topics and instead tested a few others, but that seems to happen a fair bit on actual exams, so I guess it's ok...
I hope the actual exam will be similar [in style].

What did you guys/gals scored on it? I found a game theory question easier then I expect to see on the actual exam.

There was a good problem on convertable/reverse convertable topic and real option problem wasn't too bad either.

I hope the actual exam will be similar [in style].I'd like it if the exam were similar in content! I agree w/you though...I doubt there will be two questions on real options and two questions on investment policy statement. I also be there will be more than 12 points from case study questions..I just hope that we don't see

Questions 1-22 pertain to the case study
