We'd like to update everyone regarding a few issues:
The updates to CSP have been going very well, they are off to the printers, so we're thinking that the manuals should be in your hands on the 15th (if not a few days earlier).
Regarding our online seminars, we weren't 100% sure that we'd be able to get a solid IT infrastructure in place in the next month, so we're going to plan on not having an online seminar this sitting.
We are hoping to have a beta version of an online seminar available
for this sitting, but you'll have to wait for more details to come.
We're kicking around a few ideas, for instance this beta version might only cover some of the more difficult parts of the syllabus, or we might concentrate on additional practice problems to our live seminar.
This beta version might also be available at "deep discounts" with the understanding that the product is "only" a beta version.
Regardless, this beta version of our online seminar would be available, most likely for free, to anyone that attends our live seminar. But, again, unfortunately, we cannot guarantee anything other than our intent to release a beta version. It really depends on how long it takes to get the infrastructure up and running.
Lastly, we wanted to announce that we're now planning on holding the seminar march 28th - 31st. These dates are still tentative in that we're working out the details with our hotel, but our intent is to host the seminar that weekend and we have a spot reserved. Look for updates on actaurial
bookstore or actex's websites regarding confirmation of these dates.
We hope to announce that everything is finalized very soon.
Thanks for all your questions and please keep them coming!!!! (acestudyguide@yahoo.com)
We're sorry to everyone that has been requesting an online seminar, but we want to ensure the quality is up to ACE standards, so we won't be rushing into anything this sitting. Please do keep your eyes open for a beta version in a couple months!

The 3/28 - 3/31 period will not work very well for those in Valuation and Financial Reporting since most students (in that practice area) would be working over that weekend. The practice for most companies is to close their ledger on the last working day of the quarter.
I think it is important that the planned date of the seminar is reconsidered if the Valuation guys are to be accommodated.

I've never used ACE audio, but I know it's not a seminar. It's more like audio flash cards.

Sir - I'm sorry for any delay in email responses, I was out of town on and off at the beginning of the month.
Emmak - Yes, the calendar didn't fall out too favorably this year. The prior weekend is Easter weekend, which wouldn't work for a lot of people. Based on the feedback we recieved, pushing it back yet another weekend would be too early, so we decided to go with these dates.
Yoowoo - Ace audio is the memorization cards, but on CD. They are not "seminar audio CDs".
I looked an madriver and did not see any ACE supplement for those who bought ACE CSP last year...will there be a supplement guide? If so, when can we expect to be able tp purchase it?

I would be interested in attending the seminar, though I understand that it is only US-content...is that correct?

Canadian portion doesn't have too many practice questions as US portion does. I mean the GAAP part.

Yeah, but I am curious if the seminar would still be worthwhile...

I've purchased the ACE manual last year but ended up not sitting for the exam. I would prefer not to purchase the entire study manual again. Is it possible for me to purchase only the updated materials that were added for this year?

Hi All -
Regarding the purchase of "updates only":
We've decided to not provide this sort of supplement. We think it's a great idea and would consider it for the future, but we've decided not to offer one this sitting.
Regarding the Canadian portion of the seminar:
We haven't created anything for the Canadian only material. Last year we had a couple people from Canada come to the seminar. We organized it such that US only topics were the first two days. I think they were glad that they came.
Please send an email if you have any other questions (I check the email address more often than outpost).
Jacob
