It's unclear to me just how much damage was done, but the water and smoke certainly made a mess. A shame.

The cause isn't known, but I don't think terrorism is even suspected. They're not even throwing around the word "suspicious". The fire started in the gift shop. It could have been a lot of things, I suppose.

Seems suspicious, end of Ramadan, near Christmas, probably not Al Queda but could be some radical US Muslims.

The building is mostly stone, carved and set in the old-fashioned way. So I'm optimistic about it's survival. They did have nice wooden pews.

Any New Yorkers have updates?
