I currently have dual Dell wide screen 20" monitors. I would like to rotate the monitors to portrait mode, which will make it easier for me to see everything at one time on both monitors.
Of course, I can't do this. The monitors can't physically be rotated to portrait mode. My old dual 17" monitors did have this capability, and the video driver to support it.
I need to purchase new monitors (and maybe a new video card) that can do this. Has anyone done this already (or tried it)?

CTRL + ALT + {Left Arrow or Right Arrow} doesn't work for you?
(Or you mean, literally, that you can't physically rotate the physical hunk of equipment you call your monitors for some reason, which I don't quite understand?)

(Or you mean, literally, that you can't physically rotate the physical hunk of equipment you call your monitors for some reason, which I don't quite understand?)Yes, that is what I want to do. I would like to physically rotate both monitors to portrait mode. That way, they will take up less space from left to right (but the screens will be taller).
Here is a description of the 17 inch monitor and portrait mode. (http://reviews.pricegrabber.com/flat-panel-lcd-monitors/m/22819362/)

the HP w2207 fully rotates (http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/store_access.do?template_type=product_detail&product_code=RK282AA%23ABA&jumpid=oc_R1002_USENC-001_HP%20w2207%2022%20inch%20LCD%20Monitor&lang=en&cc=us)...I think there is a 20" version as well that might rotate as well.

Thanks for the info. I currently have a 20" monitor with 1600x1200 resolution. This 22" monitor has 1680x1050, which will be a bit easier on my eyeballs!

I have a 20" dell that rotates (model # 2001FP) and a 24" inch gateway that also rotates (model # LP2417). Both are awesome monitors. I haven't hooked both up to one computer to see if I could split the screen in portrait mode. I'm guessing that wouldn't be a problem.
I hook the 20" dell up to my tablet pc along with a wireless mouse and keyboard. This makes recording lessons much easier.
Here are some pictures of my setup.
