Presumably this one (beating Akopian) and not the one where he beats the 1200 player.

Am I missing something here? Take a look at the link Jonas Grumby (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZo8O-p9qy4) posted, and then check out this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaWUvV2Zmp4&feature=related). Is this not the exact same game!?
I'm not trying to discredit them, as I don't think I could take a point off of either of them if I were to play them each 1,000 times. But isn't it a bit silly? Obviously they've reached a position about 20 moves in that is most likely straight from a book opening line. Why did they play out the position to the exact same finish both times? If I didn't know any better, it looks a bit rehersed.
What am I missing here?

It's obviously someone doing a 'reenactment'. PWTMTOTH.

Oh, I get it. That's actually really, really dumb. Do people have nothing better to do with their time than re-enact vidoes on YouTube?

It seems the very end is a little different. Other than that - a pretty good imitation! (Got to give them kudos on that!)

Actually - I take that back. Play them side by side, and you can see the timing's all off.

Actually - I take that back. Play them side by side, and you can see the timing's all off....and the fact it's played in someone's kitchen with a different clock, no adjoining boards or players, different hands, different clothes, different boards, different pieces.... but why would anyone want to spoof Naka vs Akobian?

..and I love the (totally illegal) 'let's go, C'MON' from Naka shortly after the queen snatch.

Don't forget the: "you've got to be kidding" when Aky reached for the potential queen.

When did blitz get so rule-heavy?

When did blitz get so rule-heavy?when they started playing for real money.

Well, I'll stick to doing it for fun. I've only played in one USCF blitz event, and that was awhile ago (1999?), but man, that was fun.

Blitz was always "rule heavy" , for me it is part of the fun. the guy beside Nakamura is Amon Simotowe, another 3000+ rated player on ICC (his handle is Solomons (maybe no s at the end).
Amazing how they can move the pieces so quickly.
