well I'm still a couple days off from starting, but do you have any advice on the best way to start? Or which sections I should pay close attention to or review before starting? Thanks.

How much did you guys talk about the different jurisdictions? There wasn't a whole lot about this in the module was there? I can only recall a few readings on non-us standards.

any idea as to which section I should pay close attention?

anyone know if the exercise wants us to talk about convergence between GAAP and solvency reporting within each country or convergence of GAAP and solvency among different countries?

(1) I pay much time on section 2,3,5,6
(2) The title of his project is “Three Fronts on Convergence of Financial Reporting Standards: Banks and Insurers, Jurisdictional and International, GAAP and Regulatory Solvency.”, so I think is the convergence between GAAP and solvency reporting.

any idea?

Did anyone read the required readings ("US GAAP for Life Insurers" and "Valuation of Life Insurance Liabilities")? Were they useful for the EOM exercise?

Thanks for sharing!

Yes, I did. The latter is very well-written. The former one you need a lot of time and motivations to read them. Both are very useful to one's actuarial career. However, both are not much useful to the EOM.

So far I have written two paragraphs. Any clue how to stretch this to 5 pages? ;-)
