Hi,
What would be the reasonable shotest time to finish FAP ( 1-8 modules, one exam, the final assessment)?
Thanks,
CAPM

Yes, I'm working.
Well, then you'd better go and catch it, then!

Oh, wait - that only works if the question was "is your 'r' running?".

The first 65 or so completers finished each module in a month or less. Now that all the modules are available, it's possible to beat 8 months total. I'm checking to see if anyone actually did that. In any case, you should do modules while waiting for exam results. If you use all available time, you can become an FSA sooner.

I'm pretty sure I did. I don't have any evidence of when I registered but I remember registering about a week before I took exam C which would put registration to the date modules 6-8 and the FA are credited on my transcript at about 7 months.
8 months.
Did you work full-time during the 8 months when you studied for the FAP?

Yeah, i started FAP in august. I am planning on having my FA graded by mid march, but who knows exactly how long it takes to be graded.

Nearly killed me, but I finished the first 5 modules in just under 2 months. I had to wait for the rollout to complete the rest.

Also remember, there's no more exam, there's an interim assessment that you have a month to complete.

No clue what the shortest would be. I could probably have done 2-3 months if I wanted (I didn't). I have ~3 hours a day on the bus for my commute, and can do a lot of reading in that time frame.

I meant to ask you how many hours you spent on each of the 1-5 modules and on preparing for the first test (I think it's a two-hour online test).

That two hour online test no longer exists. The last sitting was in December 2007. It will be replaced with a month long assessment to be released sometime soon (apparently sometime in Q1 2008).

Working under the assumption that the ending assigments don't "test" the materital and there is no longer a test after mod 5, you wouldn't NEED to read any of the readings. Under these assumptions (not saying they are true), it would seem reasonable that you could complete the mods in 2 months or less.
Of course I haven't taken the mods, so I don't know.

Here is a summary of how much time one poster spent on each module/exercise.

I would estimate about 250 hours total (10-15 hours during the week, 15-20 on the weekends, multiplied by 8 weeks) for Modules 1-5. This includes the time to complete the exercise, but not the review for the FAP1 exam (there was a significant lag of maybe 4 weeks, in there). I didn't review much b/c the material was fresh, but I guess that's not too relevant since they are making the IA now.

I started my first module on 2/6/06. I just submitted my Module 4 exercise on Monday and have started Module 5.

Perhaps you misunderstood the word "Shotest"

I thought shotest meant "a long shot". Sorry for my misinterpretation.
I do think I have a good "shot" at getting done in two years. I hope to be waiting for the IA at my two-year anniversary.
