Dear All (sorry for the mass mail, but this seems the best way to tell everybody)
Firstly, we're all *well*, but shaken. The building where I work, 3 World Finacial Center, is just the other side of the street from 1 World Trade Center (1WTC), the first of the two buildings to be hit by a plane. It's been a trumatic last 36 hours.
On my way to work on Tuesday, I walked passed 1WTC at 8:15am. Just a normal day. At 8:45am the first plane hit. It sounded just like a bomb -- similar to when the IRA bombed Canary Wharf. We all ran to the window to see what had happened. Then the news came over the wires that a plane had flown into 1WTC. At that stage, I assumed it was some awful accident. I got on the phone to Jacqui (my wife) to tell her I'm fine. Just as I did that, the second plane hit. You knew this was no longer an accident. And, of course, I conveyed my emotions to Jacqui, who was beside herself. I evacuated. Thankfully for me, I did the right thing -- I just started going home, which is where I finally was some 6 hours later.
Our building has been severly impacted by these events: for the time being they are not accessible. We are using alternate Lehman sites, and have effected our disaster recovery plan.
I hope to see you all soon.
