Just to let the refugees from the WC know, there is a post in the WC regarding the recent events of the WC. The poster's name is COOS, and is member not administrator, but it seems to be from a legitimate COOS member.

The post represents the current postion of the whole committee on 'offensive' posts as well as the activity of the last week.

I understand the CAS's position, but doesn't a wacky board also counteract the standard assumption that all actuaries are nimrods without personalities and poor social skills? Actually, a tragically accurate stereotype, I must add.

After reading the COOS post, I find myself disappointed that previously banned posters may not return with their names. I will await their action plan (I'll just presume someone will post a link here), before I make my decision to return.
While I was checking the post, I noticed that it appears relatively little activity has been taking place there. I think the "I can't wait any longer for exam results" posts in the Exam sections outnumbered the posts to the WC.
Where can I get a pocket protecter? I may as well dress the part.
Kid, if you're out here, put everything I can bet on the Petunias +6.

Funny, Buzz, I felt the same thing when I replied to the Holiday Office Party thread. I felt like a pocket protector, short sleeve shirt and tie, horn rimmed glasses, flood level cuffs on the pants. What a boring place! I want to post about Citigroup dropping Travelers after about three years, but I'm afraid that violates the rules. I guess the rule now is, when in doubt, post it here in the RF.

Frummie: If you dig down below all the bumped threads, you'll see a discussion on CNA, and another thread discussing comments recently made by Bob Hunter.
Considering just how many complaints COOS says the CAS has been receiving, I've got to believe that they heard something about those threads. And, since the discussion there is polite, intelligent, and lacks references to Asian sexual fetishes, it's not a surprise that those threads are still on the WC.
If you posed a question on the WC, I don't think it, or intelligent responses to it, would invoke the wrath of COOS.
