Is pain required to feel alive?

I feel so alive and invigorated from this event. Anyone else share this experience? Remember Fight Club, when they said pain and suffering makes you feel alive? Do you think it's true?

Duh! All emotions make you feel alive. Movies can't be profitable with someone handing out smiles, though. Not these days.

You mean jet planes crashing, fireballs exploding, skyscrapers crumbling is more exciting than studying four types of accounting? Are you sure you have what it takes to be an actuary?
