I'm into AC/DC and the Dire Straits.

So was I - in the '70's

I still appreciate it once in a while - but I've moved on

I wouldn't classify AC/DC and Dire Straits in the same "rock" category. But they're played on the same stations, attempting to herd that boomer crowd and their spending habits.

If you're writing about flippin' that dial to the dino rock station, then the answer is "no", I ain't rockin' to the oldies. Or, watching "Behind the Music" on VH-1, answer is still "no" (although I did watch the grunge documentary last night).

More of a "new rock" fan. but it's starting to bother me, too. When the kids are in the car, I like to force classical on them.

'Bare Naked Ladies' for me and whatever else my kids are listening to. If you can't lick 'em, join 'em. That's why I'm a 'cool' mama. Kids won't admit that, though!

Have you seen that Mazda (Ford? Nissan?) commercial, where drivers are trying to sing along to "One Week"? Kinda funny. Not buying though.

You truly are the cunning one among us.
Semi-colon hyphen right-parenthesis. (Is this a line in that song?)

If AC/DC isn't a rock band, then there is no such thing!

Its like saying that Kiss was a Mozart tribute group.

Yes, I've seen that commercial. Funny one. You are not buying the car or the BNL CD?

Forcing classical music on the kids? Ha, ha, ha....oh, you made a joke! Good one!

Yes, I do force it on them. Even at home sometimes, especially when they're a bit wired.
My youngest (4) actually hums part 1 of "Eine Kleine." Loudly, I might add. Even when it's not on. A bit disturbing, but it's not MM or M&M. Just WAM.

DTNF: Get them the CD "Mozart Goes to a Party". It has selections from The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute ,plus Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, and more...

Then dress them up like little Alex Keatons. Oh, such cuteness! Kodak moment!

Pseudo, to what are you agreeing? Just georgin'.

Dulcette-tones: I have all those and more! I found this 4-disc set. In yellow packaging. At Costco. $20. Another great reason for liking classical: it's cheap, especially if you can't tell which version is better. Yet.

I just saw david byrne. It was incredible. He's so much better live than on his or talking heads records. and he had 2 cellos and 4 violins backing him up. I have to say again, it was incredible. If he comes to your town, and you like him or talking heads, check it out. I wish I could go again.
