Condolences to those who did not pass.
On a brighter note, I did pass! I needed to take a couple of years off after getting completely burnt out, but I've gotten 6 and 7 in consecutive sittings! I'm finally going to be an ACAS!! Hooray!!! :D

I passed and will be an ACAS too! It's been 7 years in the making, and as I mentioned over on the CAS site, not until after flunking Old 7 twice (getting a 5 on the second try) and New 7 once.
:D
At the rate I'm going, I should have 2 more exams in 2 more years...
Commiserations to those not passing. :shake: Maybe next time!

OK, I admit it - I'm too freaked out to look at the list yet. (Forgive me, but this is the 4th time I've taken part 7 and if I get it, then I'll get ACAS).
Does anyone know when the results were mailed out?

I think in general, results get mailed out on the day the passing candidate numbers are posted on the website. Your results should have been mailed yesterday (6/24).

Congrats Manos and Anonymouse! It was my first time so I'm not too upset I failed. Just hope I got a score above 1.

I took exam 5 and I recieved my results in the mail today.
My husband, the joker, called me to tell me I had mail from the CAS. I told him to open it to verify that I passed. He look at it and said " It says 5." After I gasped, he said, "Oh wait that's the exam number. It says pass."

Wow, you let your spouse open the mail? My spouse did that -- once. In 11 years of marriage, we've had one argument. I told her, "Don't even think about opening an envelope from the CAS ever again." -- She hasn't, and harmony has been restored.

Thanks to all on these boards, you all are a great support.
I caved and looked at the list last night - and was relieved to see that I passed part 7! Only took me four tries. :D
My condolences also go out to all those who worked very hard and didn't pass - believe me, I've been there. I've been taking these exams since 1989 (yes, fourteen years), and I know failure like the back of my hand. :shake:
The one thing I would say to all who get frustrated with the process is that please keep in mind that it's never over until you let it beat you. Failure is part of the process, they do grade on a curve and only take the top 35, 40, 45% or whatever of the scores. You can still do well and not make the cut, it's happened whenever I got a 5 those many times. It probably won't make you feel any better right now (I know I didn't want to hear such things when I failed) but it is true. Failing an exam doesn't make you a loser.
Don't let them get you down. It sounds corny, but you're never done until you stop trying. I've been kicked out of a couple study programs along the way, and had to use vacation time to study. Not to mention studying at night after my wife and 2 year old went to bed. But it just goes to prove that you can do it if you spend enough time at it. You have to be that much more focused, but if I can do it, then it must be possible.
Van Halen has an old song called "Get Up" from the 5150 album, and I found it motivating, maybe it will help someone else:
"Hold your head up high
Look them in the eye
Never say die-
And GET UP - make it work, make it work"
Hmmmm, that doesn't sound as good without the music, but hopefully someone out there gets the point.
Peace out homeys, and remember, don't give up on yourself.

I also did not pass Part 7. I did have thoughts of giving up but since this was my first try I'll try again. I know of folks who needed three tries to be successful on this exam. So I guess the battle has just begun for me to conquer this exam.
Thanks jmjkon for your words of encouragement.

Don't give up! :bighug:
This was my 3rd try for 7C. The first time I studied 450 hours to make sure I nailed it on the first try and I got a 4. :swear: The second time my life was a mess and I don't think I hit 300 hours and I got a 3! :o I was so upset with myself. This time I was around 300 hours and I passed.
The best way to pass this exam is to find ways to apply it to your work. Get intimately familiar with the annual statements, etc. Sad as it is, my non-actuarial colleagues used to come in my office and ask me on what page they could find such and such - and I usually knew and could describe it in detail. :shake:

If I'm on the jury, I vote "justifiable homicide".
