Mo Vaughn had one decent year out of three, even picked up the rest of the lineup that year. His excuse: west coast isn't as intense as east coast. Next year's excuse: NL isn't as intense as AL. Hope he works out for you. His contract basically convinced Disney to sell.

Don't forget his tendency to strike out or hit a weak ground ball to first if it is an important at bat. When he was with the Red Sox, it seemed like teams would want to face him in a big at bat. He loves to strike out with 2 outs and the bases loaded in the later innings. But if you want to see home runs, he'll hit a ton in 8-1 games.

Indeed the day he was traded the local news kept showing home run highlights and I wondered, now when did these happen? I hardly remember him getting any big hits. The rest of the lineup did pretty well though in 2000.
