Tentative agreement on anti-terror spy bill
WASHINGTON, June 13 – White House and US congressional negotiators have reached a tentative agreement on an anti-terror spy bill that would permit court dismissal of potentially billions of dollars in lawsuits against phone companies, sources familiar with the talks said on Friday.
Under the possible accord, a federal court could immunize a company by ruling it had been given written assurances that its participation in the US government’s warrantless domestic spying program was legal and authorised by President George W. Bush, one source said.
American's rights continues to die a slow death, the police state continues to expand, and the president morphs into a dictator....and yet the sheeple lie to themselves and scream it's America this will NEVER HAPPEN...Freedumb...wave your flagz!

American's rights continues to die a slow death, the police state continues to expand, and the president morphs into a dictator....!
I am only saying this because I care - there's a lot of decaffeinated brands on the market that are just as tasty as the real thing. :joe:

Yeah this is pretty bad - the President ordered a bunch of wiretaps wthout a warrant, and then companies said "sure!" and now no one will be held accountable.
This on top of the inflation vs. deflation struggle that dominates our economic realities, and, well, it's probably not the worst thing to have some backup plans.

Again, Rickson proves he loves terrorists more than Americans.

I thought you said yesterday that governments were powerless and weak.

Hey Rickson, on the "dictator" comments... is it OK if I post just to laugh at you every day after Jan 2009 that GWB is not President? Thanks! I'm sure it could be worth at least 365 posts a year.

And exactly how stupid a scenario are you going to paint for us? I'll gladly up it to 2 posts a day.
