I don't think I'm wearing anything on my head, neck, arms, feet, hands, waist, or "rings" unless the brooch is one of the rings or neck. At least that's what my character sheet says. So if we find something for me, I want it to go in one of those slots. :crossesfingers:

Thoughts on distribution:

Halberd should go to Gimli, and the dagger goes to Miss Take. Mace should go to either Sir K or Vonteras. I know Sir K uses a flaming sword; what is Vonteras using? (the lightning sword? or was that former party member Duriel?)

Black armor probably to Vonteras (hinted by DM). Leather armor to Miss Take since she will likely jump into melee in future battles. Sunleaf robes between Hteb or wonk? Not sure who which one needs it more. The effect deals damage when the user takes an opportunity attack. The chainmail adds to teleport distance but wonk is the only teleporter (that I know of) and I don't think she can wear chain. It also reduces the speed check penalty so maybe Gimli to allow for a further charge?

Cloak of survival offers fire resist so perhaps one of the melee people may want to take this if there may be any potential of being within Hteb's scorching burst or next to her fireball. Amulet of protection for those that didn't get any new armor; the rest get amulets of health.

Potion of vitality should probably go to Sir K and Gimli since the potions of healing give less than their surges. Everyone else gets a potion of healing. Quiver goes to Guts. Bag of holding to whoever wants to hold shared party gear (Guts would like this but if anyone else wants it, he will rescind his claim). Gold can be divided evenly or split so that more goes to those that didn't get much loot (I vote the latter. Even split is 375; all Guts wants is 166).

It is likely that my time on the AO is going to be either severely cut short or be eliminated all together. I am willing to pass the reigns to Gandalf but it seems like a number of people might be in the same boat I am in.

Are enough people on Facebook that we could continue this there?

What if I set up a group on yahoo or something to post all of this at? Would people be interested in that?

Other options?

Wait with sneak attack (I'm pretty sure I didn't know it was coming), I could do that in one turn (maybe two if I get bad rolls).

Id like to continue but as youve probably noticed I havent been very available lately and I dont think that is going to change all that much while I still work here. Im willing to try to keep going where ever it is possible. Facebook is blocked at work so that doesn't work for me.

I'm still here for now. Sounds like you need a new job ;)

We need to figure out who has what and then decide if you are heading out of the tunnels or going to try going down the other tunnel.

I don't really care about the gold. We usually buy for the group anyway when we purchase something.

No idea what a bag of holding is....and not sure what the amulets do, but I'm up for that.

The bag of holding lets you store a lot of stuff so you don't have to worry about carrying a lot of weight. You can put equipment up to 200 lbs and it would only feel like 1 lb to the character. Functionally, it is similar to Hteb's floating disc back in your adventures in the goblin cave.

I am out the rest of this week but maybe next week. I need to know where the party is going from here. The door is strong enough if the party wants a longer rest it should be relatively safe.

Heading back to see if the hook horror is gone or back up the tunnels to the outside?

The group finds the humans still at the old gnoll camp. The farmer's family is returned, the others spend the night with you at the farmer's house before continuing on to the village. The farmer is very grateful. He rumages in his bedroom for a bit and comes out with a little black handkerchief-sized circle. He gathers the party around and whispers

"This is a very special prize that I found in my field long ago. It has come in very handy from time to time but I now want you to have it for bringing my family back to me. It is called a portable hole. Just put it on the wall, floor, or ceiling and it will instantly create a 5 foot wide and 5 foot deep hole in the surface. Anybody can use it and it isn't too hard (i.e. just a standard action to place and/or move). Just be careful. You can't move it if someone or something is inside the hole."

The farmer thanks the party profusely. Unfortunately the boys ask Gimli if the party met Sailor 1 and Sailor 2 and wondered if they were still in port. The girls, while extremely hot, have intelligence scores well below Gimli and pretty soon their stupidity and giggling wear on even the horniest of the guys and everybody is ready to leave by the morning.

I assume we are heading on to the town?

Not to be a pain or anything, but um, I'm already wearing leather armor at Magic +1. :shrug: I assume this armor was intended for me? I can select Magic +2, if so and if that's allowed, but if not, I'm okay with someone else having it, if need be.

Do we have a final list of whom is carrying what? potions of healing, etc.? I dont' much care about who holds the money, etc., because like someone said, we usually use it to buy stuff for the group anyway.

The trip to town is boring but the quiet is actually nice without the annoying girls and constantly being rubbed up against.

The party meets the captain almost immediately upon entering the town and he indicates the ship will be sailing out in the morning.

After a rest in the inn, the group heads to the ship. The captain is waiting saying within the hour the tides will switch and it will be time to head. He cautions the group that this next leg of the journey is one of the most dangerous areas in the ocean. Pirates of many different races, rumors of sea monsters, and an all around bad trip. Many ships make the trip without anything bad but the numbers have been increasing lately and considering we have already been attacked, our luck seems to be against us.

Could I make a quick purchase in town if it's available? I would like to buy a greatbow and transfer the vicious enchantment from my longbow into it. I think it should cost 30 (greatbow) + 175 (transfer) = 205 gp.

Yes, you can switch that. Hide armor is fine, just nothing too heavy.

Nope, I think there is a max of people that help and it wouldn't be enough. We will get the cleric to consecrate your body and set up a nice funeral pyre and maybe if you are lucky we can get some people to say some nice things about you instead of spitting on your burning corpse.

A clear call is heard throughout the inn the party stayed at. The captain is downstairs yelling that boarding the boat will happen immediately and the anchor will be raised in 30 minutes.

Each member of the party was in their own room, well, at least for the end of the night. Members of the party that don't answer (ie decide they don't want to play anymore or are too busy right now) can remain in their rooms. Otherwise we will be starting tomorrow. PLan for the first battle to take place starting tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday morning.

The captain meets the party at the dock. He is ticking off the last remaining supplies as they are carried along. He greets the party but seems to be looking off at the horizon where some darker clouds are beginning to form. He looks relieved when the last box is carried aboard and he calls for the boat to be pushed off. He ushers the group out of the way as he begins barking orders. Sailors leap every way, tightening up the sails, climbing in the riggings, moving the last of the boxes down into the hold, securing everything on deck.

The captain yells "Come on you bilge rats, move quicker. There's a squalor coming and if we can't clear Dead Man's Point before it hits we might as well throw ourselves to the sea dragons now." The boat is picking up speed but the party feels that this storm coming is going to be a rough one. Heavy rain drops begin hitting the deck every so often and waves begin picking up.

The boat pulls hard against the wind that is picking up fast. Two men are on the wheel and are able to hold the boat steady enough that the point is soon past and the men turn the wheel hard, allowing the boat to travel with the wind. The captain starts roaring out orders and all the sails are taken up and secured and only half of the main mast is left. Despite this, the boat is flying over the water. It is a rough ride but going with the wind the speed is amazing.

The party does notice that despite the extra effort, the crew has kept their swords buckled on which seems unusual. Seems despite the storm there are still dangers.

I need a d20 roll + your constitution modifier for everyone to see if you get sea sick.

It looks more like a cross between a fish, toad, and a gremlin.

They are called Sahaugin but also called sea devils because they are irredeemably evil. They hunt marine life and raid shoreline communities at night. They harbor a murderous bloodlust and, like sharks, fly into a frenzy when they sense their prey is bloodied. Their preferred weapon is the trident.

Also I say a dash to get to the upper level and keep the wheel/captain guarded is probably our best bet. It will also give us a choke point with all the enemies so we dont get flanked.

Yes, it was changed later to leather since I'm not allowed to wear chainmail. It grants me extra distance when teleporting.

Oops, realized there is a disconnect between the stairways down to the lower level from the mid level. We will say somehow it transfers you to the lower side of the ship or we can just say the team is at the other side of the ship.

With a double move you might be able to get to the stairway up in J17 or so.

I think you have to walk up the steps, one square at a time, which does lead to the question of which end of the stairway is which. My interpretation is that M32 (where Hteb moved, I believe) is at the same level we are. L32 is one step higher. K32, where CL Eric moved, is up another step. Then J32 is still on the stairs, and I21 is at the next level.

Also, since J32 is only one step below the next level, I think you could step from J32 to I,J or K 20 or I,J or K22.

Under this interpretation of the map, J32 and J21 are exactly the same place. I32 and I21 are not; I21 is one full level above I32.

S1 attacks the first mate, it helps that he has 4 arms (S1 and S2 do, the others don't). He stabs the first mate with a trident and also claws him with two hands. The trident misses but the claws scratch deep causing 12 and 7 damage and 5 ongoing

S1 decides he isn't done so he tries again. This time he connects with all three attacks for 13, 7, and 8. The first mate is bloodied.

S2 attacks the captain with all three attacks. He only hits with the trident only causing 9 damage. He decides he is going to wait on any extra attacks.

S7 attacks Sailor 4 hitting for 10

S9 moves to AC18 attacking Sailor 19 but misses.

The captain swings and hits S2 for 15 damage and S2 is slowed. He begins to mock S2 which allows Sailor 1 and Sailor 2 to try and hit him again, in kind of a gang banging on his armor. And gang banging when it comes to Sailor 1 and Sailor 2 is a scary scary though.

Sailor 1 hits for 8 damage, Sailor 2 misses but gives Sailor 1 a quick peck on the cheek to congratulate him on his hit.

You could see S27 from halfway up the stairs as long as you are normal height. A shorty like Miss Take would need to be 3/4 of the way. You can see S19 from your current spot.

So I think we go with Sir K's suggestion to double-move Vonteras toward the other stairs, yielding an OA. Vonteras's AC, with hide armor, is 16, I believe.

Vonteras could move to J32, but with Hteb in K32 Vonteras will move only to L32 to protect her should S19 and S14 follow.

What about Hteb and the sea sickness? Should she be rolling saves against it (and if so, she could perhaps be further than K32).

As a free action, Guts tells the dwarf that he may have better luck if he switched to his new halberd. On the other hand, Guts with his new quiver has been failing his shots so he may want to keep his mouth shut.

(Charge is only a standard action, not a move action, so I could have sheathed the maul, drawn the halberd, and charged.) If the roll attack would have been a 1 either way, the maul did less damage than the halberd would have.

Sorry, I didn't see this. The ship is made of wood. The tridents are pointy. These are creatures that can breathe in water or air. If they sink the ship, they pretty much have won because they are pretty evenly matched with you on dry ground (ie the ship), in the water, they would gain a huge advantage. Yes, I think it is very possible that they would be able to sink the ship.

S20 does the same although he hits for 19 damage and 5 ongoing, Sailor 10 is bloodied.
S22 does not have an angle on Sailor 10 so he aims at Sailor 11 hitting for 14 and 5 ongoing.
The first mate is hurting but refuses to yield the ship. He attacks S2 hitting for 13 damage
The Helmsman tries to swing at S3 while holding onto the wheel. Luckily he is able to hit for 15 damage.
Sailors 1 and 2 attack S2, their bodies working together as if they were attached at the hips or something, both hitting, both for 12. It is almost like they are used to working in the same rythm or something.

So is the order Hteb then Vonteras? Do we have an updated map? Probably all they need to know is S19 is Q30, S14 in R30 and S13 in U33. Those locations are correct, and are the only ones on the lower level, aren't they?

(This further assumes Hteb can see those spots from her current position on the stairs. If not, she would need to delay until after Vonteras and move down a step.)

For Vonteras, I see two options: Attack S19 with Sir K or attack S23 to block it from getting to the bottom. As a minor, he could use Shake it off to help Hteb with her save if she needs it. However, it looks like these creatures cause ongoing damage so we may want to save it...

Damage is 2d8+5+1 (I think), 1d10+5+1 vs secondary if both attacks hit

From that last sentence, I conclude that she's wisely rejecting the dwarf rolling for her. If someone else feels lucky, I think they could.

Both options for Vonteras sound good. Attacking S23 might keep him away from Hteb, too. What's the situation about attacks involving the stairs? Can Hteb's K32 be attacked from any squares except J32 and L32? Could L32 be attacked from the "20" level (e.g. L20 or L22)? Does someone on a higher step or level gain combat advantage in a melee attack situation?
