Just like all the other banking failures, 'they are too big to fail' so let the taxpayers pay the bankers as they can't lose money they own the sheeple.

http://finance.yahoo.com/tech-ticker/article/37078/Were-All-Homeowners%3A-Nationalization-of-Fannie%2C-Freddie-Unavoidable

The two mortgage lenders are simply too big to fail and too critical to the housing market, Depew says. Given Fannie and Freddie own or guarantee 50% of all housing debt, according to the WSJ, continued stress on their balance sheets means higher borrowing costs for the firms, and ultimately higher mortgage rates for individuals. It also means another round of write-downs for the battered financial sector generally, which owns a lot of Fannie and Freddie-backed paper.

Basically Amerika is being born from the ashes...

Is this a surprise? If you are an actuary go borrow the oldest copy of Handbook of Fixed Income Securities you can find and it will tell you that while Fannie and Freddie are not backed by the full faith and taxing power of the federal government, that they are considered too big to fail.

Why weren't you complaining about this 10 years ago?

So when and how did you escape "sheeplehood"? And what happened to the beers and chicks?

The nationalization of Fannie and Freddie and would put U.S. taxpayers on the hook for the socialization of the housing market, but Depew says we're already there whether we know it or not.

Does this mean we will all be homeowners or just be liable for the defaulted mortgages?

I found one I couldn't get enough off...

I still enjoy a beer or two here and there and really like trying to brew my own! Kids, Wife, BJJ, Studying, Hunting, small farm take up all my time now!

My dentist oddly enough had been on me for YEARS, like since I was a kid about how the US was moving into a police state, how bad fluoride was and that vaccines were a soft kill weapon. He gave me this tape of some General, can't remember his name (I have it at home) that laid it all out and how there was going to be a made up terrorist attack that would be the beginning of the end that recorded off his shortwave of some show. 9/11 was the day I fell down the rabbit hole. I go in spurts, the FED and our economy has been my latest area of interest. Vaccines were my passion 4 years ago when our daughter was born.

I wish I could read and inform people full time but I fear I'd be shot...no one likes the truth or someone that they think is 'unamerican'. I was handing out 9/11 and other materials in a parade and some old guy from the legion hit me in the nuts with his cane....it was classic.

If you're so convivned there's going to be a great depression, wouldn't the actuarial field be about the last thing for you to waste your time studying on?
'Cuz get real, the insurance industry would have no problem canning well over half of us, especially if they don't have any customers.

Or are you like Andy Lang's throwback great-nephew?

I'm a union Ironworker first, actuary second. My BJJ business is a gonner too.

We'll have a greater depression, it's just a matter of when no if.

Yeah actually, I guess this is a huge problem with the older silver fillings leeching. He's a dentist, oral surgeon, and othrodontist as well as a medical doctor. He makes 100% of what he puts in your mouth. He grows and raises 99% of his food. He's a neat guy.

He's the smartest person I've ever met academically and practically. For graduation (of college) he game me a Kahr K9, holster, 2000 rounds, and a free toothe cleaning and check up!
