NBS Signs MoU on the Improvement of Actuarial Profession

Actuarial training courses have so far been held in the NBS with the support of the USAID, whereas from 2009, they will be organized by the above academic institutions.

With a view to promoting the actuarial profession and supporting its development, the National Bank of Serbia has signed today a Memorandum of Understanding with the Faculty of Economics from Subotica, Faculty of Sciences from Novi Sad and Belgrade Banking Academy.

This Memorandum regulates the activities of the public and private sector designed to develop and enhance educational opportunities for actuaries in Serbia, based on a program of the International Actuarial Association and in accordance with internationally accepted standards.

Actuarial training courses have so far been held in the NBS with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), whereas from 2009, they will be organized by the above academic institutions.

As envisaged by the MoU, the National Bank will on-lend the training programs, reference books, all materials and presentations designed and delivered by internationally renowned lecturers during the training courses, past tests, as well as provide free promotional services (dissemination of information on the institutions organizing actuarial training courses through its website and regular meetings with the industry).
