I'm not putting this in "Political" because my only point here is... isn't this (http://www.bytobyshop.com/products.asp?classid=352) weird?

How does this work? Is Nike making these themselves? Or is someone buying plain Nikes and Baracking them up before reselling?

It's obvious since you didn't find it on nike's website.

Because official Nike sneakers are only ever sold via Nike's own website?

Well they won't be found on a reebok's site.

I haven't the foggiest idea what point you're trying to make.

If I went to a website and brought a body kit for my honda, I wouldn't think that it's an :qunq:official:qunq: Honda part.

While Nike may be bought on different sites. I assume if a particular Nike exists, then you can buy it at Nike. You cannot buy Obamas at Nike. I think that is the point.

And how do I recognize that this website is selling something analogous to that? I can go to, say, zappos.com and buy actual, Reebok-made Reeboks, Adiddas-made Adiddaseseses, and Nike-made Nikes (http://www.zappos.com/n/es/d/722062504/page/1.html). So seeing Nikes on a non-Nike site doesn't in itself mean that they aren't offical Nikes.

(I'm willing to be shown that these are third-party-customized shoes. I just haven't been shown that yet.)

Oh, as in he meant "you can't find it on nike's website" instead of "you didn't find it on nike's website"? That makes some more sense.

Would you buy a Rolex from me on myspace?

OK. So these shoes were just made by some dude. Not as weird as if they had been made by Nike, Inc., but still pretty weird. His confident smile and kind eyes yadda yadda yadda.

No, but I'd buy running shoes from Amazon or Zappos.

(Yes, I've accepted the conclusion of your argument while still rejecting its form. I'm like that.)

Yeah, especially not if it said "honda of america" on it and had the honda emblem. If I got a part like that on another site, I would think that it was definitely made by a homemaker somewhere, too.
