What percentage of MBA students actually know what an actuary is and how to become one?

What percentage of MBA students know a d*mn thing?

My guess is it's about the same number (btw it's not a very large number!).

Why?

...Is this short for "Why do I feel compelled to bump 5-year old posts by people who are obviously not going to respond?"

My ex-wife, MBA candidate when we wed, knew enough to prefer I finish my exams at the expense of hers. (We moved away from her program to take advantage of a great actuarial student program.) When she tried to go back after waiting for our two kids to get into grade school, they told her they didn't want to waste limited MBA program slots on a mom. :furious:

Whoa! I think that would be the point where I called up a few members of the press and mentioned the gist of my conversation with said fine institution.

We certainly thought about it, but it was decades ago when she was one of the very few (and first) female candidates in her MBA class at a conservative college. She was too angry to be interested in going, and we weren't confident enough of gaining anything worthwhile. So we just moved on -- she got a teaching certificate, teaches special ed. in grade school now, loves it.
