I was just curious what statistical package you use at your company. I'd assume SAS and S-Plus are most common?
Do you do your own programming for your projects, or do you work with another department for those needs?

SAS, but a lot of statistical-type and prep work is also done in home-made APL workspaces

Recently I used the statistical software package R for a multivariate regression. It is free and open source. I've heard it is similar to S or S plus. It's a little tricky to figure out the syntax at first but look around on the web for examples of what you are trying to do and it's not too tough.

I heard that R was a good package, too. I have difficulties installing R on my Mac though.
Another mathematical software you can consider is Octave.
