You rating is based on your personal preference of course. Cutest, strongest, meanest, fuzziest, etc bears are all welcome here.

My favorite: The Sun Bear. It’s small, ferocious, cute, endangered and probably full of honey. There are all things I look for in a great bear.

BTW, don’t try the Brown Bear, it’s so pedestrian.

I agree that Spectacled Bears do rock but how did you and your son know that it was a male bear? Was it part of the answer?

This was in no way meant to piss into the wind and say that your son does not rock. He clearly does. It is just the reason it is such a hard question for Jeopordy because most of those wouldn't have a clue.

Polar Bears just moved to the top of the list after this weekend:
:link: (http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/04/11/polar.bear.attack/index.html?iref=mpstoryview)

BERLIN, Germany (CNN) -- A polar bear attacked a woman at Berlin Zoo Friday afternoon after she climbed a fence and jumped into its habitat during feeding time, police said Saturday.

The bear attacks the woman during feeding time.

One adult polar bit her several times after she plunged into the moat, police said.

Zoo workers tossed rescue rings toward the woman to hoist her out and distract polar bears swimming nearby, said Goerg Gebhard, a Berlin police officer.

At one point the woman fell back into the water and was grabbed by a bear before she was eventually hoisted to safety.

The woman was severely injured and was being treated at a hospital, police said. Watch polar bear attack woman »

It's unclear why the woman entered the bear habitat, but police issued her a citation for trespassing.

Berlin Zoo is home to Knut, the first polar bear to be born there in over 30 years. The bear became a huge talking point in Germany when his mother gave birth to him in December 2006.

Hallo, well you join us here in Germany just a few minutes before the start of today's big event: the final of the Women's Being Eaten By a Polar Bear event. I'm standing now by the Polar Bear pit. In charge of the team is a woman who has not been identified.

"Ah, well, you not only got to get in that pit first, you gotta get EATEN first. When you land in front of your polar, and he opens his mouth, I wanna see you right in there! Rub your head up against his taste buds. And when those teeth bite into your flesh, use it to thrust yourself DOWN its throat. I've been experimenting for many years to find a sauce most likely to tempt a polar bear. In the past, I've concentrated on a fish based sauce, but this year, I'm reverting to a simple "bear"naise."

My new favorite bear:

ISLAND PARK - A local Idaho Falls hunter is in the hospital after a mother grizzly bear attacked him.
"Obviously, you know, he does have that sensation of very very painful when the bear bit his arm," said Idaho Fish & Game Regional Officer, John Hanson - who interviewed the victim.

The outing began as a quiet, summer morning - perfect for hunting black bears. But, ended with a shocking attack.
"He's very aware that maybe this was pretty close," said Hanson.
Keith Klinger, of Idaho Falls, was out in Harriman State Park with his brother and a fellow hunter. Their dogs picked up on a bear scent. When the men caught up to the dogs, they were surrounded by three cubs, and a defensive mother grizzly bear.

"This is what we consider a natural aggression," said IDFG Regional Wildlife Manager, Daryl Meints. "It was a female grizzly bear, she was defending her cubs."
The bear took off after Klinger, knocking him to the ground and biting his right arm. In defense, Klinger's brother shot his gun.

"That's where we may have a wounded one [bear], or not," said Hanson.
Idaho Fish and Game know of a mother grizzly in the Island Park area, but are not sure if she's the attacked. They warn those in the area to be cautious.

Officials said if you encounter a bear, do not run, stand your ground.
"Make noise, yell, make your presence known. A lot of times - all bears are extremely curious," said Meints.

Officials plan to continue monitoring the area.
Local News 8 headed to Madison Memorial Hospital a day after the attack to check up on Keith Klinger. He declined an interview, saying the painkillers would prevent a coherent conversation. But, he is doing well and nursing the cuts on his arm from the Bear's bite.

I hope more people get attacked by the things they hunt. It's only fitting. I hope the bear is OK.

Wow, this Hanson guy (the interviewer, not the victim) didn't say one thing that made him sound remotely intelligent this entire article. Case study:

"Obviously, you know, he does have that sensation of very very painful when the bear bit his arm,"
Okay. Where to begin? I guess we'll start with the fact that this guy has no concept of proper grammar. "He does have that sensation of very very painful when the bear bit his arm." Hmmmm. This is just gold. The sensation of very very painful. I'll have to remember that one. Next, let's think of how obvious this statement is. He is basically saying "It hurt when the bear bit him." :co: I had no idea grizzly bear bites hurt. Thank you for sharing this clairvoyant information. Okay, this guy is making a strong case for being an idiot so far, let's move on to the next piece of evidence.

"He's very aware that maybe this was pretty close,"
So is he certain or uncertain? It almost sounds like he is certain that he is uncertain. "Very aware that maybe this was pretty close." I think what he is trying to say here is "He knows this was a close call." If he would have said it with these words, he wouldn't sound like a moron. We've got two strikes against the trilobite, but can we seal the deal?

"That's where we may have a wounded one [bear], or not,"
Oh, so logically, there exists a possibility that you wounded the bear, and there exists the possibility that you did not wound the bear, and you are not particularly certain which outcome occurred. In the real world, we have a term for this: clueless. In a final showing of unintelligible dribble, this backwash fails to spit out this easy statement: "We don't know what happened to the bear."

Well, if this were baseball, this guy has three strikes and he's out. Unfortunately, this is not baseball, this is life. In baseball, you can come back to the plate and try again later; in life, this guy is just a stupid idiot.
