Are there any other new ASA's out there that have applied for membership to the Academy? How long did it take to be accepted after you sent in your membership application?

I am a new ASA as of March and I sent mine in about a month ago. Haven't heard back yet. Just wondering if someone can give me an idea of what sort of time frame I can expect! Thanks!!

About a month seems right, with the diploma coming a couple weeks after that. So it should be soon for you.

OK - So let's say you've just become a member of the Academy. How do you update this in the actuarial directory? My coworker logged in and clicked on Professional Designations, and it is not apparent to either of us how you add the MAAA. Thanks.

I don't think you can update it yourself. Email the SOA and they will tell you when it gets updated. They may ask you to send in a copy of your certificate if you want it updated sooner.

When you become an MAAA, the AAA will tell the SOA.

That would be pretty sweet if we could. I can think of a lot of designations I feel worthy of bestowing upon myself...
