I have a very good scanner available to me, but I don't have good OCR software. Can anyone recommend a software package that will be fairly reliable in converting documents containing a lot of numbers into spreadsheets?

Any of the major packages should work, but you're going to have to spend a lot of time proofing the results anyhow (or making the above-mentioned students and interns do it, as the case may be).

I also might be available. Check your nearest auction block.
Where are the numbers coming from? If they're from some mainframe program, there must be a way to have it run and saved in a mainframe file/dataset.
If they're competitor rates, then you're SOL. Having a skilled 10-key person works wonders. I don't if I could trust a machine to read more accurately than a good 10-key.

The numbers would be coming from various sources. Sometimes even mainframe reports or spreadsheets that are no longer available in electronic format.
