Inspired by the Best NES game surveys. I put together a survey of 64 movies that were released in the 1980's. I created my list more or less from the top 10 grossing films, cult classics, well-knowns, AO favorites, and movies that I just plain liked. I tried to pair up similar movies, and when sequels were used, I tried to pair them up in the first round. However, all three Indiana Jones movies were on the top 10 grossing films list, so there is only one first round Indy matchup.

I'll start with 4 matchups today, if you want me to do all eight matchups from a bracket, I can do that as well.

Matchup 4 has American hero John McClane in Die Hard vs. Australian hero Crocodile Dundee.

Enjoyed them both a lot when they came out, but Die Hard wore better over time. Probably because Bruce Willis actually can act, and because Alan Rickman made a strong foil.
