Oh, and I've gotta go with the game with Mega Man in the title for this one.

I'm going to let the deciding factor be the the format of Megaman (before the Dr. Wiley stages, anyway), whereby I could play the stages in any order, and give up and try another if I got sick of one.

Also, that password with which to take up where I left off made a difference, because this was back in the days when my mom limited my Nintendo hours, and my sister was not going to let me keep Contra paused for days on end, when she had games she wanted to play.

More than an hour, yes. I used the cheat code for extra lives, and went through quite a few of them. Perhaps you were better at the game. I don't care.

The first time you ever played? It took me several sittings to get it done that certainly amounted to hours. After 300+ plays this might seem ridiculous but I find it hard to believe that Contra never gave you trouble. If that's true then why did you like it?

The first time you ever played? It took me several sittings to get it done that certainly amounted to hours. After 300+ plays this might seem ridiculous but I find it hard to believe that Contra never gave you trouble. If that's true then why did you like it?

It's just that it's such a short game to begin with. Even if you completely suck at it, I don't see how it can take that long to complete the game. Are there infinite continues (I can't even remember)? So you would have to continue on the same level, like, five times in a row? I guess then it could take hours.

I certainly sucked the first several times I played it, but it was never too hard to beat, especially if you were using the code. The challenge was to just get better and better at it.

Yeah it's only five levels or something but they were really hard. At one point anyway. And I didn't know the code till after I had already beaten the game. I feel sorry for you that you did, it was so much more rewarding to beat it with 3 lives instead of 50.
