Sigh, I enjoyed Earthbound...but I'm pretty sure I enjoyed MMX more. X made the MM franchise cool again during the 16-bit era.

Somehow I missed Earthbound as a kid so I'm gonna have to vote MMX. I did DL the Rom many years later and thought it was a solid game that I'd probably have really enjoyed in my early teens, but I agree with mlschop that MMX revitalized the franchise.

Earthbound is amazing. An RPG that doesn't take itself too seriously. Mother (Earthbound zero, the original on the NES) had you fight a lamp as your first enemy.

Got to love an rpg where your weapons is a frying pan instead of a sword.
