Those of you who have done CSP-RU before, to what degree should I be worrying about Canada? Obviously the Morneau Sobeco book has some good general pension information, but how much should I worry about the details of the Canadian system as someone who will be taking the US exam?

Either from your experience with the exams or from seminars/manuals, any thoughts?

I tend to get irritated for no good reason when the reading is focused on Canada. I'm a little convinced they must have time on their hands in Canada considering how many syllabus readings they were able to get people in Canada to write...

P.S. nothing against Canada or Canadians, just bothered by a second country framework. And yes, I imagine the case is worse for those of you in Canada having to read a ton of US-based stuff!

I can't really help you with your question. I am a first-time writer of CSP too. However, I am writing the Canadian exam. I am not sure how much I should read on the material focussed on the US system.

The approach I am taking until the Edge manual is released on the 8th of January is to focus on areas that are definately on the Canadian Exam - i.e. CICA 3461 - accounting stuff. I am also trying to cover areas that I am unfamiliar with or never seen before.

Don't worry about specifics for other countires. My understanding of the US exam was that most specifics are on the EA exams anyway.
