With pretest results coming out around 4 weeks afterwards and the deadline for the 7 Seminar 4 weeks, this leaves a small window for this:
7 Pretest on 4/5/02 and the
7 Seminar on 6/10-13/2002.
Anyone have any thoughts on the feasiblity of this ?
I would anticipate that the seminar will be filled before you get your pretest results. You can gamble that you passed the pretest and send your application for the seminar in early. But if you are wrong, the SOA charges a fee ($200?) before refunding the rest of your seminar money.

I think you only lose $100 if the seminar is full and you pass the pre-test. If you fail the pre-test and are then not eligible for the seminar you lose the $200.
This is from a quick reading of the application procedure, I may have it wrong.
If the seminar is full, they should refund 100% of the seminar fee (it's not your choice that you didn't get into the seminar -- it's theirs not to let you into the seminar).
I had this happen for the Dec 01 seminar. They refunded my fee in full (applied it to the Nov 01 seminar).

Good point Me, I hadn't thought about that.
Thanks.
It seems there are fewer seminars this calendar year. Either way, seems like they could've delayed the June seminar a few weeks to give April pretesters a better shot of making it.
I just don't want to be so close to November when I'll be studying for Exam 8.
I took the Feb pretest last year and wanted to go to the June seminar in Toronto. I was not willing/able to wager $200 of my company's money that I had passed. When the results of the Feb pretest came out, the June seminar was already full. I ended up going to July in Chicago.
