Just checkin' in to see if anyone out there is taking CAS 7 this coming Spring? Any others thinking of getting a jump on this in the next couple of days (if not already)?

Yes & yes. Will it help? :shake: Not likely.

I plan on taking but don't plan on starting until after Thanksgiving. That is early for me. I wish I knew the results of Part 6 - could be a good motivational push if I pass (or I guess a real downer if I fail)!!

Sleepy, I agree it's a little early, but have you seen the size of the Part 7 syllabus :o . That's a heck of a lot of accounting to get through if you ask me. I can only imagine it's going to be riveting!

I know, I saw it and spoke to some friends who have taken it and they all vouch for how interesting the material is. I just don't think I will get around to starting before Thanksgiving. I am going to try though but Thanksgiving is only 2 weeks away and I travel for Thanksgiving so I am taking some extra time with the holiday.

I'll be taking it for the second time. I started studying last week. Right now I'm just devoting a few hours a day in pure reading. I'm focused on reading the entire syllabus once this time before I seriously start to study it.

Does anyone have a suggested reading schedule?

Doesn't matter what order you read it in, it retains the same level of excitement regardless of the order.

Actually, if you are new to the annual statement stuff, I would read the Feldblum articles first. That stuff usually requires numerous readings before it starts to sink in, whereas some of the regulation stuff is just sheer memorization.

Started on 11/10. Mostly starting early because year-end and Q1 tend to eat quite a bit out of my study schedule, so I'm doing it now.
As for reading order, I like regulation first, then accounting, but must be sure not to get bogged down by all the regulation stuff, or get freaked out by the amount of memorization. I like to end my study week with an accounting schedule. It is a definate finishing point, and it gives me a sense of accomplishment.
Oh, and for the record, I HATE this exam. Unfortunately, I have had several opportunities to study it :(

I'll be taking it for the second time. I have read through most of Schedule F Feldblum and I'm working my way through Lorimer.
