PacificSource Health Plans is a regional PPO, currently strongest in Oregon and Idaho, expanding into Washington and just picked up a small block of business in Montana. With our most recent acquisition, we have also moved out of being just a commercial carrier, and picked up some Medicare Advantage and Medicaid business.

Our ideal candidate may or may not be credentialled, but if not credentialled will be close, and will have experience with Medicare Advantage. If you do not have that experience, but feel excited about learning about how to submit a bid to CMS, well we'd be happy to talk. The job will not be limited to government business, at least not until all our jobs are limited to government business; but that is the pressing gap in our current skill set.

Corporate HQ is in Springfield, Oregon, and that's where we expect this position to sit; but the Medicare/Medicaid business is being run out of Bend, and so semi-frequent drives over will probably be expected. Eugene/Springfield still feels like a fairly small town, and some people find that refreshing, but others find it oppresive. I will be your supervisor, which some people find refreshing, but others find it oppresive.

For the full corporate description of this position, please see http://careers-pacificsource.icims.com/jobs/1336/job Feel free to PM with any questions.

Seems a bit late in the process to be getting someone to do your MA bids.

@otley: Salary is competitive, but not what you'd get in New York. Company did a mark-to-market just this year.

@cincinnatikid: Not for this year's bid, I thought that was obvious -- we've used consultants for the 2011 bid but want to bring the work in-house for 2012.

I thought it was fairly obvious as well (I'm just about done uploading MA bids myself), I just thought the timing was ironic and felt compelled to comment.

I promise to consult a calendar before posting in bold font going forward.

DTNF: For you, I'd think about it, but no.

I appreciate the thought. MedAdvantage frustrates me too much, though.

You forgot to tell people about the no sales tax, and the no pumping your own gas.
