So I will probably take the CPCU 540 test in 2 weeks or so, I am on Chapter 7, which should be easy since I know TVM, annuities and bonds pretty easily and I have had a class once going over a lot of these things.

On to the real question: Do I really have to memorize all of the ratio formulas? Is the test going to be like "Heres an income statement/balance sheet... find this ratio".

I am just trying to gage how much I really should be memorizing for this exam. The material flows pretty well so I am not too worried about the comprehension. Thank!

Yeah, there was something like that on there. But probably only a couple questions when I took the exam (it's been a while since I took it already).

If you think about them, most of the names of the ratios make a lot of sense. Rather than "memorizing" them, it might be helpful to consider why they're named what they're named. I think it's a lot easier to remember them that way.

But even if you just blindly memorize them, there aren't that many and it really shouldn't take all that much time. You might as well make sure you know them, one way or another.

The exam was fairly straightforward and covered the material fairly evenly. I knew the vast majority of the material and what I didn't know I knew I should have known.
