ESPN wants .10 per internet subscriber, TWC doesn't want to pay it. Will they pull ESPN off right before college football starts?

I take it that is a per month amount.
Why doesn't ESPN simply make a subscription channel, and charge, say, $20 per year, and not worry how that subscriber is getting the service?
Oh, yeah, it would rather make everyone with access pay, even though many internet subscribers won't ever watch anything on ESPN3. Plus, keeping the gateway secure is difficult business.

Why doesn't ESPN simply stream online for free? I find it hard to believe that stations can't make more advertising online than they can advertising on TV, considering that online you can target specific audiences for certain products.
I think broadcasting companies don't want to embrace internet because it would show true stats for who watches their products, rather than the inflated Nielsen ratings.

Suits are dumb
i've heard espn ads against another cable co (bright house) on the radio. ooooh i won't get all that crap programming i'll never miss like sportscenter and pti. but don't worry because espn will give me a list of other choices. i'd love to see warner, comcast and a few others get together and tell espn to stuff it.

ESPN seems to think espn3 is a channel and not a website.

ESPN3 is pretty awesome...especially during college football/basketball season. I'd be pissed if my local monopoly cable company didn't have access to it.
