"The top five disliked sports personalities, according to The Q Scores Co. (the demographic among those polled was not mentioned): Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick; golfer Tiger Woods; Cincinnati Bengals receivers Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco; and Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant."
Pretty epic. Terrell Owens is still relevant folks.

Demographic was unmentioned, perhaps the douchebag population was not surveyed.
Not sure what there is to dislike about Ochocinco and Kobe. I get the others.

You really don't see what is unlikable about Kobe? Between being really arrogant when he was young, feuding with Shaq publicly, raping women, buying his wife a $4 million ring to keep her around, etc. I find it hard to choose

Yea but I figured enough time had passed that people got over that stuff, at least I did. Past few years all he's done really is shut up and win titles. LeBron should be above him.
And where's Big Ben? Racism imo.

Kobe, Tiger and Vick are pretty obvious
guys like Jeter or Brady are disliked by sports fans not rooting for NYY or NEP
Q ratings are ususally general population, so they hear name like Chad's or TOs and connect it with negative stories, without ever realizing they never did anything that wrong.
I am shocked Roeth.. isn't one of them, I would think he was a big enough name and it was a big enough story - could depend on the timing of the poll

I'm pretty shocked that Ocho is on there and Roeth isn't. I really can't think of any good explanation for that. I've always liked 85, his stunts are funny and never hurt anyone (outside of his own wallet).

Yeah, I must have seen that and didnt read too closely.
Either way I dont really have much of a problem with 85. I can see people who dont like him...with all the talk, reality tv and crap like that.
TO definitely belongs on the list.

I really can't understand why 85 in on this list. Has he been in trouble with the law? No. Is he that bad of a teammate? I didn't think so. Yeah, he's a bit of a diva, but top 5 hate for that?? Is it because he has a bad reality show?

I hate the Yankees as franchise but actually don't hate Jeter (think he is a great player and great sportsman) or most Yankee players. The only Yankee that personally deserves hate is AROD.
On this list, Kobe is my #1.

The only thing I can think of is how often Ocho gets fined by the NFL. If someone browses news and continues to see "Ocho gets fined again blah blah", you would believe he's a dirty player
But he gets fined for tweeting and endzone celebrations, not dirty hits.
Off the field, he is *the* best at interacting with fans.
Absolutely no reason he should be listed.
Terrell Owens is a diva, but should not be listed with Kobe, Vick, (Roeth), or Tiger.

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100915&content_id=14723336&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
I was watching the game last night when this happened. He sold that shit. And it was not even close to hitting him.
Derek Jeter sold it like a professional, darting away from an inside pitch during the seventh inning on Wednesday, then shaking his arm in apparent pain while walking to first base.
Only later, after home-plate umpire Lance Barksdale had believed Jeter's self-described "acting" job and ejected Rays manager Joe Maddon in the process, did the Yankees' captain come clean about the performance he'd put on for the crowd at Tropicana Field.
"It hit the bat," Jeter said. "He told me to go to first. I'm not going to tell him, 'I'm not going to go to first,' you know? My job is to get on base."

...
Ochocinco steps up to the plate... the dinner plate.
Outspoken Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco made good on his Twitter promise to take a Patriots fan out to dinner while he was in town for the Patriots-Bengals season opener. On Saturday, Ochocinco took season ticket holder Will DiTullio and his wife Julianne out to dinner in Providence.
"I got in touch with Chad via Twitter," DiTullio wrote in an e-mail today. "Eventually we started trading e-mails back and forth. I asked if he was going to meet New England fans when he got into town and I received an e-mail from Chad this past Saturday morning, where he told me to come down to Providence and we could meet up, find a venue, and grab a bite to eat.
"So we went down to Providence and met him. Chad was unbelievable. Very, very, very nice. We talked Patriots, playing with T.O., Celtics/Heat, and life in general. The whole experience was very nice. I was almost embarrassed that he would pay for our dinner. I would have been happy with a picture."
...
He'd never met of them before, yet Chad Ochocinco still felt compelled to buy dinner for 64 "fans" of his Wednesday night at St. Elmo's Steakhouse in Indianapolis.
A fine gesture, to be sure, but you see, the Bengals travel to Indy to play the Colts later this season, so Chad was using the opportunity more to cozy up to the city and, of course, to get himself yet more publicity before the season began and he's forced to split the spotlight with fellow Bengal receiver Terrell Owens.
Could he take catches and yards and touchdowns away from Ochocinco this year? It's a distinct possibility. However, not even T.O. can derail the growing pop culture phenomenon that is Chad Ochocinco. He's become the crown prince of the NFL, and he's soaking up every minute of it.
But his 64 guests didn't care. Thanks to Ochocinco's overactive Twitter account, these folks came from everywhere to get a free meal on Chad, who claimed the night to be a huge success.
Not only that, but he's since promised to have similar events in other opposing team cities throughout the season. It's sure to cost him thousands of dollars over time, but worth well more than that in good will and media play.
If he keeps catching touchdowns, though, there's a feeling he'll be able to keep up with the good natured stunts as long as he wants, of which there seems to be end in sight already.
...
How can you not like this guy?

The guy goes on Twitter and does stuff like "Going to the movies, the first 100 fans to show up at X Theater tickets to Transformers on me!" or buys everyone McDonalds or something off the wall. He is awesome, we need more pro athletes like him.
And ninja'ed by Balla with more tales of teh Ocho epic awesomeness.

This was funny:
Last year on Hard Knocks, it showed Ocho going into Claire's (cheap teen girl store) to buy earrings.
This year, Kendall Langford from the Dolphins lost a $50,000 earring during practice
Ocho tweeted:
The Dolphins player that lost his 2.5 karat earrings at practice, i sent him a CLAIRES gift card, they all shine the same

I thought he looked great on Hard Knocks last year, as did Owens the year before. In contrast, the backup back on the Jets who declined reps: That's a dislikable (and now former) football player.
Jeter helps his team, but goes to Hell eventually. If you believe in that sort of thing. Real men don't trick the arbiters, whoever they are. Deceive your opponents all you like in games and sports within the rules. Real men don't need to cheat to win.

Not sure I agree, catchers try to trick the ump all the time. Same with NFL offensive linemen. Part of sports.

They all go to Hell. 97% of professional soccer players, too.
Jeter watched too much World Cup. Not sure how he fit it in this summer, but it seems to be the only logical conclusion.
We'll see how many of these types of decisions in the future go to the benefit of Jeter or the Yankees.

I understand you you take what the ump gives you, but to fake like that is absurd. I mean he faked to theextent that that you had Yankee's trainers come out to "check" you? That's fcuking low. Selig is all about "integrity" of the sport, right? That shit should be fined imo.
