Start 3 WRs. Wes Welker, Greg Jennings, and...
1. Jabar Gaffney
2. Brandon Tate, or
3. Danny Woodhead (both a RB and WR in Yahoo)

First, I'm not sure you should start Greg Jennings over Jabar Gaffney.
Second, if you get points for return yards, then Tate should start. Otherwise, not sure what the addition of Branch means for the WRs, other than Welker who will get his points.

The Giants D has been looking way too good to not play them against Detroit. I know they just held the Rams to 6 points, but I'm not buying that as anything meaningful yet. Aeyyyyyy!

I'd still go Brady. Tried and true, and we already saw last Monday that being Moss-less won't have a huge effect. Aeyyyyyy!
My own question: Brent Celek vs ATL, or Dustin Keller vs DEN. The rankings say Keller by a hair, but I think they're overweighting his recent performance and that he'll come back down a bit with Holmes back, like he did last game. Also, Celek's already looking like last year's Celek with Kolb at the helm. Meaning, I'm leaning towards Brent Celek already, but would be interested to hear if people think I'm wrong.

ATL 10th, DEN 24th. I'd lean Keller but all those 2nd tier TEs are sort of a crapshoot anyway.

I'm in the same dilemma. Leaning toward Eli.

I'd go Brady coming off the bye. I'd be concerned after last week that they don't let Eli put the ball in the air any more than necessary, to minimize his mistakes, and run the ball on Detroit.

I'd go with Eli. Baltimore's #2 against the pass, Detroit's 21st. And with the Lions having the 6th best scoring offense in the NFL there's no guarantee that the Giants will be able to dominate them.

I'm having a similar dilemma with Celek vs. Moeacki. Rankings have them even. I'd give the edge to Moeacki given the Houston D, but my opponent is playing Kolb so I'd like to hedge against him.

Am I right not to like Baltimore D vs. New England? Someone dropped Chargers D the other day (they play StL this week). Should I give up on my dream of having Michael Turner get hit by a bus, and drop Snelling for it? Or is it ok to let go of Fred Jackson for it since he's on bye this week and also he's on the Bills?

Nate has a great matchup against Jax. FWIW.
Chargers D is way overrated, I wouldn't jump at the chance to take them, although the Rams might be an exception. Balt D vs NE is meh, I'd find something better.

You've got it backwards, if your opponent is playing Kolb he has the hedge against you playing Celek. You can't get any points scoring a TD, and every 3 pts you get from Celek is 2 pts for him.

Pick 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 flex:
RB: Forte vs. Seattle, MBush @SF, Hillis @Pit, Torain vs. Indy
WR: Harvin vs. Dallas, SMoss vs. Indy, MThomas vs. Tenn, Bess @GB
For RB's, Forte is the only one I'm sure about. There's a good chance that McFadden will be back this weekend, Hillis is banged up and going against a tough D, and Torain is meh.
For WR's, will probably use Moss. Harvin's numbers depend on Favre's elbow, which is not looking so good right now. MThomas has been ok this season but might do well against a Titans D that is one of the worst against the pass.

In our league passing TD's are just 4 points, 1 pt for 25 passing yards and 1 pt for 10 receiving yards. So if Celek gets 50 yards and 1 TD, then he'll have 11 pts to Kolb's 6.

Hillis vs Pitt or Green-Ellis vs Balt
If Hillis wasn't banged up, it would be easy. But his "Q" concerns me.

Chargers D/ST, @StL
Patriots D/ST, Bal
Packers D/ST, Mia
Seahawks D/ST, @Chi
Chiefs D/ST, @Hou
Lions D/ST, @NYG
Buccaneers D/ST, NO
 @ Browns D projected to get 9 pts vs. Pittsburgh

I try to convince myself of this play as an argument for doing it often.
It's an imperfect hedge, still. If Kolb leans on Maclin or Jackson more, then Celek could offer little "protection". If they run more with McCoy & Harrison, then Kolb and Celek both do little, or if Kolb only throws his TDs to Celek it's a near-perfect hedge on covering his QBs points with your TE (no way all the yards go to Celek, though). But does your QB points then at least cover his TE?
You really need a QB who outperforms his QB, a TE who will do better than his TE, and likewise, you need the best play at every position. Especially if you are playing for top score each week gets $$. Less important to hedge than just try to put up the most points.

Bolts are probably your best bet. Another alternative is to play Baltimore and pick up the Chiefs as a 2nd D, since they have a pretty easy schedule the rest of the season. I'm surprised they are even available in your league - one of our guys scooped them up after Week 1 and hasn't let go.

The 4pt passing TDs reduce the hedge a bit, but you still don't get full value out of Celek's points because of Kolb. I'd play Moeaki.

This hedge really only works the other way. If I'm trying to decide between Eli and Brady and my opponent has Nicks, Eli is a good play as a hedge because he neutralizes Nicks' TDs and some of his rec yards. Assuming you have a choice between two closely ranked players, picking a receiver as a hedge just lowers his potential value.

Standard yahoo scoring no PPR
Forte vs Sea
Charles vs Hou
McFadden vs SF
Jacobs vs Det
D.Brown vs Was (a big big big maybe, only if Addai is inactive)
Andre vs KC
Driver vs Mia
Steve Smith NYG vs Det
Wallace vs Cle (I'm starting Roeth)
Knox vs Sea
I was leaning towards Andre, Wallace, Forte, Charles and Steve Smith. (Might swap Smith for Driver if Rodgers looks healthy) What do you guys think?

WR: A. Johnson, C. Johnson, S. Holmes, G. Jennings, J. Maclin, B. Tate

Big game this week... I'm 5-0 and playing the only 4-1 team in the league. In overall scoring, he's first and I'm second. He's got the Petyon-Reggie combo, I've got the Rivers-Gates combo. We could have a situation. Anyways, start 2 RB and 3 WR (my likely starters in bold):
RB: Bradshaw (DET), Mathews (@STL), B. Jackson (MIA), CedBen (bye)
WR: M Williams (NO), Royal (NYJ), Moore (@TB), R Williams (@MIN), T.O. (bye)
Is Roy Williams worth starting? I picked up Jackson in the hopes that he pulls his head out of his ass for the last half of the season, but I don't think I want to play him this week.

I don't like hedging strategies in fantasy football. Play whoever you think is going to get the most points. That being said, if Rodgers is healthy I'd go with Jennings. If Rodgers is out, I think I'd play Maclin.

Avoid Jennings. As noted earlier, you are only helping your opponent, and he's not playing at all like a #1 well right now.

I have Garrard, Torain, SMoss, NWashington, and Bironas to go. Opponent has MJD and Wayne to go. Down 77.3 to 115.5 (barring the weird adjustments to D and P that sometimes happen). "Projected" to lose by 8. This time I really do think that I still have a chance.

Great game for Torain, but now I'm regretting not putting in Bess and Celek. Then I'd be down by just 2 with Scobee to go. Now I'm down 13 with Jones + Scobee to go. Reminds me of a match I played 2 years ago where I was down 10 going into Monday night, knowing that the right coaching decision would have won the match for me. I lost that game by 1! :swear:

Lost by 2 f--in points! I play Titans D instead of Giants and I get an easy W. That's one reason a Giants fans like me doesn't like to have Big Blue on my team, but after their dominant performance against Houston it's hard not to play them.
