Bush shall wage war...

I don't know which is worse... Bush's lies, or the dumbasses that believed him. :shake:

Senators were told Iraqi weapons could hit U.S.

Nelson said claim made during classified briefing

By John McCarthy
FLORIDA TODAY

U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson said Monday the Bush administration last year told him and other senators that Iraq not only had weapons of mass destruction, but they had the means to deliver them to East Coast cities.

Nelson, D-Tallahassee, said about 75 senators got that news during a classified briefing before last October's congressional vote authorizing the use of force to remove Saddam Hussein from power. Nelson voted in favor of using military force.

Nelson said he couldn't reveal who in the administration gave the briefing.

The White House directed questions about the matter to the Department of Defense. Defense officials had no comment on Nelson's claim.

Nelson said the senators were told Iraq had both biological and chemical weapons, notably anthrax, and it could deliver them to cities along the Eastern seaboard via unmanned aerial vehicles, commonly known as drones.

Nelson is the only one who remembers this? And he doesn't remember who in the administration said it? He might actually be less credible than rense.

Most of these weapons are small enough that they could easily be brought to a US port. So, the biggest obstacle to them being used is finding someone willing to use them.

At least us occupying Iraq will make it harder to find said person, right?

I'm guessing he's not the only one.
We'll hear more about this.
And I consider my intelligence sources "darn good".

It's been a year sinced the alleged briefing, and, IIRC, there's been a little bit of discussion on the topic of Iraq in DC lately. If this had happened, I think one of the 74 other folks present would have said something. Why has Nelson sat on it for so long, anyway?

You think the Republicans would be talking about it?
Maybe much of it is confidential.
This administration is pretty good at keeping their lies under wraps.
It's taking the Supreme Court to get big Dick just to give the names of who he met with to produce the nation's "energy plan".

For my own sake, I hope it's not the dumbasses who bought into the WMD rationale.

the whole world knew he had WMD's. The dead bodies strewn trhought Norther Iraq knew it too, but not for very long. Wasn't there a UN inspector that said he had them I held some in my hands or something like that?

I read it as "it is a secret who told us this", not "I cannot remember"

me too. He probably fears the political repercussions, but that just makes him look like a pansy. I suppose there could be legitimate security concerns though, so the jury is still out on this one. Hopefully we will get more details eventually.
