Hi,
I'm currently studying for Exam P as I want to change my career. I've been in the field of education for 8 years now, started as a teacher and ended up right now in charge of quality assurance, KPIs & compliance. Just wondering what are the opportunities right now in the middle east, anyone can help?
N.B. I'm originally from Jordan and currently working in UAE.

Thanks for the reply, maybe some connections in the insurance industry might help. Anyway, I've alreay decided to set try and pass exams P & FM then wait and see if this change is worth pursuing.
By the way, are you currently in the region?

Yes, I'm in the region for a few years now with the industry in actuarial field. Good luck with your exams.

So I've passed the first two exams now, been in touch with a few helpful actuaries in the UAE. To be honest, I still think it's gonna prove rather challenging to find a job here with no relevant experience, but the actuaries that I've been in touch with so far were very encouraging. Anyway, I decided that the only way I'm giving up on this is if I end up passing all prelims and still not finding a job one year after that. Might sound ridiculous but I'm confident that with my current skillset and the willingness to learn, I can attract some hiring manger out there. The only flaw here is that it's a tight market (try searching the directory for designated actuaries in UAE and see how small that number is), and I'm wondering if I should use a recruiter (although I think recruiters don't work with entry level candidates in this part of the world).
