Hey all,

I apologize if this has been asked before or is in some obvious footnote somewhere, but is all the material on the SOA 289 up to date for the syllabus?

I started skimming it and saw sometihng about a Cox Hazard model and something about a life table method or something like that.

These are not topics that I ran into using ASM so I am wondering if some of the questions are outdated? I was just skimming so I dont remember what question the life model one was, but question 9 references a Cox proportional hazard model.

Thanks for your asisstance.

The Cox model is no longer on the syllabus, and the Cox models problems have been removed from the most recent version of the SOA 289 (which is dated Fall 2009).

and the life table method is now "Kaplan-Meier approximations for large data sets". Use the table in the back of the ASM manual to determine the lesson covering the topic for questions still in the list.
