Jupiter, FL (KSDK) - Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright has suffered an arm injury and could be out for the entire 2011 season.

The bad news was delivered by General Manager John Mozeliak at a news conference Wednesday morning in Jupiter, Fl.

Mozeliak says Wainwright is flying back to St. Louis for treatment.

So Wainwright vesting options for 2012 and 2013, which would have vested at the end of this year, won't vest because he'll be on the DL at the end of 2011. Does that mean the Cardinals can't pick up the options anyway. If they can't, now they have to get both Wainwright AND Pujols signed.
