Does that mean it's off the syllabus? :)

Since the work comp experience rating plans NCCI had in place in 1980 and have replaced twice are still on the syllabus for exam 8, I'm going to say no.

The Committee believes that the topics in ASOP No. 9 are adequately covered in ASOP No. 41, other ASOPs, and the Code of Professional Conduct, and concluded that ASOP No. 9 should be repealed.

Yes. But now we're you're going to get a couple of different ASOPs plus the CPC added to the syllabus. Yeah!! More reading for us you all!

I would agree that it will be removed from the syllabus. However, for the May administration of Exam 5, I would still consider it fair game.

Agree that the content will still be fair game since it's felt that the content of ASOP 9 is already covered in other sources; so the repeal is one of efficiency and not changes in expected practice.

I came on AO today to ask whether or not ASOP 9 would be part of exam 5A; I know that it is listed as part of the 5B syllabus only, but it does apply as much to ratemaking as it does reserving, after all. However, given the above and the fact that it's been repealed, I don't think I'll be worrying about it at all.
