What to memorize?

Obviously we can't memorize every sentence in the two thick books (yes, im using the paper book). For those who took the exam already, what do you think would be the "key" things to memorize? definitions? steps/processes listed in the material? applications? or what else?

I started reading the book last week and Im taking the exam at the end of may...Just finished first 5 assignments...The reading is very boring..and I don't think I can memorize everything...

Definitions are very important. And if you understand those, then you should be able to apply them. Applications would probably be my second choice.
